The Concert Hall of 28,000 m2 is situated in a solitary spot with a clear view of the enormous sea and the mountains surrounding Reykjavik. The building features an arrival and foyer area in the front of the building, four halls in the middle and a backstage area with offices, administration, rehearsal hall and changing room in the back of the building. Bio-Lake Reception Center | Wuhan | China | Zephyr Architects

This reception center houses exhibition space, conference rooms and administration offices for Bio-lake campus. Next to the entrance plaza and adjacent to the central lake, the building is the symbolic heart of the Bio-lake campus currently under construction.
The overall form and proportions of the building correspond to the program arrangement, which includes a central atrium, models and media exhibition room, and ramps and stairs connecting different floors. The architectural massing of the reception center rises about the elevated plinth. The stone are cladded in such a way to following the geometry line and wrap around the entire building, giving the impression that the building is floating above the ground. ............more

Theatre and conference centre of 37,500 m2 with a theatre (1000 seats), 2 congress halls (400 and 200 seats) which can be divided into smaller halls, an exhibition hall, 2 multifunctional foyers, press room, restaurant, lounge, 9,500 m² parking, a square of 15,325 m2, Mercolleida office and retail space of 2,591 m2, 1st prize competition.

Clovis Memorial District Conference Center | Clovis, California | Mark Cavagnero Associates

As a prominent local veteran’s organization with an existing conference center facility, the Clovis Memorial District wanted to create spaces to serve the community, specifically a 500-seat theater, a flexible 350-seat auditorium and additional conference center space. Designed as a two-phase master plan, the new buildings set out to bridge between the historic downtown and the adjacent civic center. Recently completed Phase 1 of the project, the newly expanded Conference Center, houses a 350-seat auditorium, offices, and meeting rooms centered around a gracious entry lobby to be used as both exhibit space for the veteran’s artifacts and as a pre-event space. ....more

The forum building (Q2) is part of the ThyssenKrupp Quarter in Essen.
The building is situated next to the Q1 office building on the eastern side of the central water axis.
The forum can be accessed through the campus as well as from underground, and is within short distance from any part of the facility.
The forum is intended as a central point of communication - a place of exchange and transfer of knowledge that will be used for meetings and conferences by the corporate management or for welcoming clients and guests who are visiting the company.
The canteen (Casino), which is also located on the ground floor, will cater for the approximately 2500 people working at the site.
The first floor is laid out as a conference level: a compact arrangement on a single level including several conference rooms, the large convention and event hall, and the “room of silence”.
The conference rooms are designed as four different room sections that may be combined.The interior is characterized by expressive room sequences with one- and two-storey buildings. Aerial spaces with different levels can be found at several locations.

The Glasshouse: Arts Conference and Entertainment Centre | New South Wales, Australia |Tonkin Zulaikha Greer

Two large timber forms appear to float within the glass ‘skirt’ that defines the building’s perimeter, one housing the regional art gallery and the other the sumptuous 600 seat theatre. This box-in-a-box strategy is a familiar one in contemporary performing arts venues, where an outer façade provides weather protection. An interstitial space between external envelope and black-box theatre becomes foyer and circulation, a place for the audience to promenade and be on show. TZG has deployed this strategy before for the remarkable Carriageworks (2006) project. While the theatres at Carriageworks are sheer off-form white concrete set against a patina of brickwork and cast-iron, the rich inner shell of ship-lapped local timbers here contrasts sharply with the cool glass façade. In this sense the building is akin to Jean Nouvel’s Culture and Congress Centre in Lucerne – albeit at a more modest scale....more at ADR
