WXY recently completed the renovation of a 4,000 square foot residential loft in Chelsea. The design of the project developed from a concept of a refined loft, maintaining the desirable qualities of a former industrial space while introducing a more sophisticated approach to materials, details and contemporary space-making.
Planes of different materials are introduced to define functional spaces within the loft and create a dynamic visual relationship between spaces. These planes enhance the volumetric impact of the existing space while providing a sense of organization to the open plan.
