Foundation for the Education of Visual Arts (FOEV),Istanbul,Turkey |GAD

Currently waiting for city approval, the new FOEV (Foundation for the Education of Visual Arts) building will be a breakthrough facility for the region.

The foundation’s new building will house a museum, rental studios, and training programs for the advancement of photographic study and practice. The new facility will also promote and showcase emerging artists. The foundation’s goal is to educate the community on the importance of visual literacy.

The faceted ‘folding’ facade operates as a deep surface to organize programmatic elements of the design. The large roof terrace is an open air photographic studio for natural light photo shoots. FOEV’s contemporary design solution contrasts with the residential ‘boxy’ typology of the building’s context. The building is set to be the cultural heart of the community.
