"The government of Albania held an international competition for a 22,500m2 extension to the existing parliamentary building. Because of it’s peculiar location between the existing building on the north-eastern side and the existing urban fabric on the remaining sides, the scheme intends to rejoin a highly fragmented urban fabric while at the same time representing a strong institutional presence in the urban environment."
